HD 187123 is orbited by a planet every three days that is at least as massive as Jupiter but at 1/25 the distance that the earth orbits the sun (~93 million miles - 150 million kilometers). With such a close orbital radius, astronomers believe the planet would look a deep blue almost violet due to the intense radiation.
